Reflecting on Events of 2024: A Year of Connection, Collaboration, and Innovation in Regulatory Affairs
As 2024 draws to a close, we reflect on a truly transformative year in regulatory affairs—a year filled with innovation, collaboration, and meaningful connections. From our flagship events like LORENZ Converge and LORENZ Connect to global gatherings such as GPRAS in Brussels and RSIDM in Washington, this year highlighted the power of coming together to share knowledge and spark progress.
LORENZ Connect 2024: Bridging Borders Virtually
In April, LORENZ Connect 2024 brought together nearly 500 participants from 40 countries in a fully virtual format. This event showcased the ability of digital platforms to connect thought leaders from across the globe.
The sessions explored a wide range of topics, from the implementation of EU-IDMP and the evolving eCTD standard in Africa to the strategic use of regulatory metrics and KPIs. To ensure accessibility, all recordings and resources were made available on the LORENZ ID platform, allowing participants to revisit sessions or catch up on missed insights. LORENZ Connect demonstrated how virtual gatherings can facilitate meaningful conversations and foster collaboration across borders.
LORENZ Converge 2024: A Global Gathering in Berlin
In October, we hosted LORENZ Converge 2024 in Berlin, where regulatory professionals and agencies joined forces for two days of inspiration and innovation. Experts from Asia, Africa, North America, and Europe came together to exchange ideas, foster collaboration, and expand their networks. The event featured keynotes and sessions led by industry leaders, including Dr. Bernd Misselwitz of Bayer AG and Tim Powell of Biogen Idec Limited, who provided critical updates on eCTD 4.0 and engaged in a dynamic panel discussion.
In addition to our numerous presentations, we gathered great feedback from people who attended our popular table tutorials held by experts from inside and outside of LORENZ, diving deeper into specific topics in small groups. In these we showcased our latest product developments, with live demonstrations that allowed attendees to see the future of regulatory affairs technology in action.
Beyond Our Events: Strengthening Industry Bonds
In February, the DIA RSIDM event in Bethesda, Washington, provided a platform for engaging discussions with partners and clients. These exchanges highlighted the importance of cross-industry dialogue in tackling shared challenges. Later, in October, the Global Pharmaceutical Regulatory Affairs Summit in Brussels gave us the opportunity to present our AI-integrated eCTD submission prototype. The vibrant conversations and valuable feedback we received reinforced the importance of in-person interactions in advancing the field.
Looking Ahead to 2025
We are already preparing for an exciting 2025. In April, we’ll kick off the year with LORENZ Connect, our virtual event designed to spark new ideas and connections. Then, in October, we’ll head to Denver for LORENZ Converge 2025, where we’ll build on this year’s momentum and shape the future together. We hope to see you there!
