When the lockdown began in Germany and many other countries, the LORENZ Management team reacted quickly with a Business Continuity Plan designed to protect our employees' safety and well-being, while ensuring business as usual reliability for our customers and partners. Our LORENZ colleagues and partners from around the world created a video message for customers, sending their best wishes and underlining that we are there for them. Have you seen the video?

When LORENZ was present at the DIA RSIDM in February 2020, no one had any idea that this would be the last face-to-face conference we would attend in 2020. Our North American user conference LORENZlink planned for April and our European userBridge in September both had to be cancelled. Stepping into this gap, in September we held our first ever LORENZ Connect digital conference with 20 sessions drawing participants from all over the world. In addition, LORENZ partnered with PharmaLex to deliver a new series of webinars covering a range of regulatory affairs topics, and the series will continue into 2021. In June, the LORENZ charitable foundation held another panel discussion with prominent speakers. Usually this is an in-person live event at our offices in Frankfurt, but this year it was held online for the first time.

During the year we also enhanced our online resources with a website makeover, and in the process re-structured our e-mail notifications. Have you signed up for our regular updates?

Back at the beginning of the year, we introduced our new LORENZ Cloud with many advantages you can enjoy, and offered a docuBridge publishing module for an early glimpse on how to publish EAEU submissions.

Our reliable release schedule continued like clockwork during 2020; the 20.1 and 20.2 releases as well as Regulatory Update Packages with recent specification updates by regulatory authorities were published on time. You can check out the highlights in the related blog posts, and also take part in our new free spotlight and release webinars - an innovation that has been deeply appreciated by our customers. We are especially happy that one new customer - the USFDA - went live with our solutions during this special year.

Despite the difficult situation, we can actually be thankful for many new challenges and chances the year presented, and look into the future with optimism.
